The Willow Grew Tired of Weeping
By Jeff Sloan
Drop your cigarette
And don't forget...
Isn't it what is right
To cheat on your lover
With your own wife?

They don't rent cheep
Emotion anymore.
The weeping willow weeps
The creeping fire leaps
Into branches gently sweeping
Over children softly sleeping
Their dreams echo
The doom gift of ancestors
Medicine is genetic poison
Save a life and burn the living
Save the dying from returning
As the world speeds revolving
Around a heat in space evolving
We are ashes
Or are we dust
Metal corrodes
Or grows weak with rust
And human beings shouldn't
But then...we must!
The willow must one day stop weeping
And we, one day soon,
will all stop breathing.
